Ponzi Vineyards was among the first American wineries to recognize the climatic match of this rare varietal of Italy’s Piedmont region to the Willamette Valley. In 1990, five acres of Arneis were planted on Laurelwood soil at the Aurora Vineyard located in the Laurelwood District AVA.
